How to Grow

| Sow indoors in tall pots (root trainers) in Jan–March, or directly outdoors in April–May. Soak seeds overnight before sowing 2 cm deep. | Keep soil evenly moist. Do not let the roots dry out, as this can cause bud drop. Water generously during dry spells. | Full sun to partial shade (roots like cool shade, tops like sun). |

Harvest flowers regularly for bouquets. The more you pick, the more they bloom. Do not let seed pods form. |
Tips
-
Pinch for strength: When seedlings have 3–4 pairs of leaves, pinch out the growing tip. This encourages side shoots, creating a bushier, stronger plant with more flowers.
-
Deep roots: Sweet peas have long taproots. If starting indoors, use deep pots (like toilet roll tubes or root trainers) to allow root development without disturbance.
-
Remove seed pods: If the plant sets seed pods, it thinks its job is done and stops flowering. Deadhead spent blooms immediately to extend the season.
